What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Ringneck Energy?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Note: These are basic functions performed by the role of the Accounts Payable Specialist but may also be allocated specific duties based on workload capacity as deemed necessary.
· Maintain incoming invoices at company email inbox
· Print out invoices
· Print out shipping / purchasing documents
· Verifying shipping / purchasing documents to the invoices
· Obtain necessary payment approvals for non-material invoices
· Enter receivers into accounting software
· Obtain payment approval on each invoice
· File invoices by payment date
· Handle vendor/ grain customer payment
· Pull invoices for payment separately into ACH versus manual payment batch
· Create ACH Payment Batch for authorization
· Ensure all necessary documents are included in invoice packet
· Coverage for the administrative assistant as needed
· Enter and cut payment in Great Plains software (training provided)
· Reconcile and balance all relevant general ledger accounts at month end in Great
Plains software
Provide daily reports to CFO & Controller regarding all outgoing funds
· Responsible for daily accounting procedures
· Timely completion of monthy/quarterly filings
· Other related duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Required Knowledge
& Experience: 5 years prior experience AP / AR, and bookkeeping required
Experience in accrual accounting preferred, with emphasis on supporting operational leaders with reporting and analysis required
Exceptional business math skills required
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
10 key by touch required
Knowledge of general office equipment required
Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Well organized and attentive to details

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
