Description
Job Purpose
Responsible for knowing and enforcing the rules and regulations of hockey, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for starting games on time
- Ensure the rink is free of debris and all gates are shut before starting play
- Enforce all rules in an impartial and professional manner
- Responsible for keeping games safe and in control
- Must look, dress, and act professional
- Must check player equipment every game to ensure safety and legality of participants
- Must write incident reports for any fights, threats, misconduct penalties, or damages to facility
- Must check for sit-outs in game book before start of every game
- Notify manager on duty of any fights, threats, or damages that occur in writing the day of incident
- Must attend one clinic a year for inline referees
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- USA Hockey Level I Ice Hockey Official or equivalent
Working Conditions
Position is located at a recreational or outdoor facility. Work may be done both indoors and outdoors. Majority of work will be done on or around ice
Physical Requirements
Position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and ice skating
