ROLE
Coordinate all required certification as applicable to all Rinnai America Corporation laboratories and appliances. Provide testing support for product development, reliability, and application solutions within the Rinnai America laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
LAB OPERATIONS
- Work with members of Innovation department to understand the changing certification and regulation requirements and ensuring those changes are addressed in Rinnai America products.
- Coordinate certification projects in the lab as applicable to the scope of products of Rinnai America Corporation.
- Work in partnership with Rinnai Japan to organize certification projects with 3rd party certification bodies for component certification.
- Maintain all CSA certification reports directory and create new certification records as necessary.
- Maintain AHRI certification directory and create new certification records as necessary.
- Coordinate annual AHRI audits for validation of compliance with Code of Federal Regulations.
- Maintain UL certification reports directory and create new certification records as necessary.
- Organize DOE test data to compile information for Energy Star submission
- Coordinate NOx testing with 3rd party certification body and ensure reports are reviewed and certified with applicable Air Quality Management Districts.
- Coordinate high altitude testing with Appliance Engineering as necessary.
- Monitor all certification listings (CSA Group, Massachusetts, UL, International Code Council (ICC), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), AHRI, Energy Star) to ensure accurate information is displayed.
- Work in partnership with Lead Lab Technician and Engineering Lab Manager to create standard operating procedures, processes, and policies.
- Organize test data produced by lab technicians for submittal to certifying bodies for certification.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
LAB TESTING
- Develop test plan, schedule, and oversee CSA certification testing to applicable ANSI standards within Rinnai Laboratory Scope as well as Department of Energy (D.O.E). and Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) test procedures.
- Provide technical testing support for a variety of engineering activities.
- New product solutions and qualification testing.
OTHER
- Produce management reports related to certification activities.
- Set up a certification reporting cadence for the business – weekly, monthly, etc.
- Embrace and support growing business demands in a changing environment.
- Awareness and compliance of Company Policies and Procedures.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Embrace and foster an environment to promote the Rinnai cultural beliefs.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 2-3 years engineering laboratory experience or combined experience with academic degree equivalence.
- American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and DOE test protocol experience related to gas fired products.
- Certification background a plus.
SKILLS
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical proficiency in related field.
- Moderate to High computer literacy – Microsoft Office.
- Understands basic electrical and plumbing schematics.

- High level of personal integrity and honesty.
- Team player able to operate with substantial independence and enthusiasm.
- Ability to produce reports on technical issues.
- Task oriented approach with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
