Recovery Caf Las Vegas is seeking a compassionate Peer Support Worker. The peer support programs goal is to support adults to rebuild their lives and break the cycle of addiction, and / or overcome a recent crisis or trauma. We strive to stand in the gap between crisis and stability by fostering community-building and life-empowerment. The peer support program requires members to be drug and alcohol free for 24-hours, contribute to the Caf and to the healing of others, and attend a weekly Recovery Circle.

The peers support program is geared to teaching members to live in recovery. Our members are welcomed into a community that focuses on building long-term mental and physical health as well as maintaining sobriety. We help each individual reclaim their life as a person worthy of giving and receiving love. Whether in crisis, newer to recovery, in long-term recovery, after a relapse, during a difficult life change, or mental health transition, the Caf is a place of support and stability for all individuals seeking freedom and fulfillment.

Full-Time Temp Position : 40 Hours

Salary : $17.00 - $18.00 per hour (DOE)

Requirements to be a Peer Support Specialist :

18 years of age or older

High School Diploma or GED

Self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health and / or substance use disorders treatment services

Possess or obtain a New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) within six (6) months of hire.

A minimum of three years of stable recovery (clean and sober)

Provide three (3) Character References to include endorsement of the number of year clean & sober.

Strong desire to support individuals who are on the recovery journey and a personal understanding of the recovery journey

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to both connect and maintain appropriate boundaries with a diverse community

Strong communication skills

Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to embody principles of recovery in daily interactions
