Job Summary And Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides secretarial and administrative support services to the Engineering Department including, but not limited to typing/word processing, proofreading, preparing reports, processing correspondence, scheduling meetings, recording at meetings, receiving visitor, maintaining files and conducting special projects as assigned.
POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
¨ Bachelorette Degree
¨ Certifications in facilities preferred
¨ Hospital experience a must
¨ Course work should have included English and typing
¨ Should be able to type 50 words per minute with minimal errors
¨ Computer Experience Is Required
¨ Secretarial experience is required
¨ Organizational skills are necessary
¨ Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
¨ Good Written And Verbal Communication Skills Required.
¨ Ability to read, write and speak English
¨ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
¨ 3-5 years Safety management experience
¨ Bachelorette Degree
¨ Life Safety
¨ Environment of Care
¨ Emergency Management
¨ Able to respond to staff needs by interpreting facial expressions and/or verbal communications.
¨ Requires good communication and organizational skills.
¨ Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment. Requires working with frequent interruptions.

¨ Must have proficient organizational skills and computer skills

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
¨ Oversees work order and Complyos system
¨ Emergency Management training, documentation and planning
¨ Assists with the development and performance of hospital staff safety and emergency management education
¨ Assists the department director with data collection activities
¨ Demonstrates thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation and composition.
¨ Prepares a variety of administrative reports, statements and rosters. Gathers data and other necessary information.
¨ Maintains regulatory compliance documentation
¨ Assists with employee time management
¨ Coordinates inspection and maintenance activities with vendor and dealers
¨ Assigns and dispatches corrective work orders to safety department staff
¨ Consistently is attentive to detail, record keeping and required paperwork inherent to the position.
Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas has been serving the Rio Grande Valley for more than 30 years. Our full service hospital has 320 beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing 35 specialties. Rio Grande Regional Hospital offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services.
