What You’ll Do
The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Analyst provides guidance on financial insights, analysis and decision support Rio Las Vegas. This includes partnering with the Director of FP&A, CFO and other business stakeholders to implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability, manage budgets and expenses, and drive procedures, controls and reporting systems. This role will also manage a small team of financial analyst(s), working closely with them to provide insightful reporting, analytics, budgets, forecasts, and business modeling that supports informed decision-making and strategic planning.

This role will also manage a small team of financial analyst(s), working closely with them to provide insightful reporting, analytics, budgets, forecasts, and business modeling that supports informed decision-making and strategic planning.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
- Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of the operating and capital budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare budget and financial forecasts, maintain and plan control procedures, including the cost accounting system, and analyze and report variances.
- Support with the Quarterly Earnings process and calls, and daily gaming and operations reporting.
- Responsible for the reconciliation and processing of the accounting records and general ledger.
- Responsible for the coordination and implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Produce reports for consumption of upper management that distill the results of financial analysis to shed light on actionable opportunities to drive improvements.
- Provide financial planning and guidance on labor and staffing initiatives. Work with Workforce Management and Operations to ensure maximized profits through the proper utilization of the games, employees through scheduling and staffing levels, and control of departmental expenses to maintain the levels of service required for the business levels.
- Guide decisions in succession planning, culture and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Mentor and provide career pathing for Analyst(s).
- Identify and adapt to changes in the economic climate and/or company profits and pivot accordingly.
- Analyze potential business opportunities using detailed financial and scenario analysis and market research.
- Create ad-hoc financial analysis of strategic opportunities as they are presented.
- Lead process and systems improvements to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of the FP&A function, ensuring the Finance department can scale with organizational growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and quality output.
- Understand and comply with all gaming regulations including Title 31, SICS, and MICS regulations.
- Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- This position directly oversees the FP&A Analyst(s).
- Minimum five (5) years of budgeting or financial analysis or financial modeling at the organizational level.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.
- Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to set and successfully drive strategies for both customer loyalty and employee culture programs.
- Strong Computer proficiency, ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable financial and operational software.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proficient in using financial planning systems such as Oracle, Cognos TM1 or similar software.
- Five (5) years experience of leading large teams.
- Prior casino management experience at the levels of Senior Analyst and Director.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must regularly lift and/move up to 10 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
