Your Career
We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Public Policy and Government Affairs. This team leads Palo Alto Networks engagement with government globally - building strategic and operational relationships, conducting policy advocacy, and enabling strategic business opportunities. As a global policy analyst intern, you will assist in the tracking and analysis of a broad range of cybersecurity and technology laws, policies and regulations the team tracks globally. You will also assist in the execution of our advocacy strategy tied to those policies, including the development of associated messaging materials and identification of key events and objectives in alignment with those policies.

- Connections to other interns and employees across the company as well as our leaders
- Monitor global policy developments and assist in the management and upkeep of existing global policy and advocacy strategy trackers.
- Conduct baseline research and analysis on identified policy priorities
- Draft briefing memos and talking points; produce executive-level and other updates that inform a variety of internal and external communications
- Attend Congressional hearings, conferences, and meetings to maintain company’s situational awareness of the global cybersecurity and broader policy environment (virtually as appropriate)
- Develop thought leadership materials, communicating the value of our industry-leading technology and company’s policy perspective in numerous formats and forums, to include responding to government public comment opportunities, drafting letters, and writing blog
- This work will cover activities to support the entire Global Policy Team, to include both U.S. domestic and international issues
- Current Graduate student majoring in Public Policy or a related field
- Strong research and writing skills, highly attentive to detail and quality
- Analytic and strategic thinker with an ability to identify and articulate global geopolitical and technology trends and developments - and make connections to company-aligned strategic priorities and tactical opportunities
- Highly collaborative team player, willing to take initiative
- Background working specifically on cybersecurity and/or technology policy issues strongly preferred
- To apply, you must be pursuing a 2-year Master's Degree or a Doctorate degree and returning to school in the fall
- You must have the authorization to work within the United States. Please note that we will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
