Job Summary
RISD Continuing Education seeks two temporary Operations Assistants to support summer program operations for its teen and pre-collegiate audiences. This role supports the summer operations team coordinating facilities and programmatic needs for instructors, teaching assistants and students. This position liaises with campus partners, families, and the Pre-college Summer Office staff to support students during academic class time.

Essential Functions
Individuals who fill this role will either be assigned to Teen In Person programming or broader Summer and Pre-Collegiate programs. These assignments will determine which of the below listed functions are assigned to each individual.

TEEN IN PERSON PROGRAMMING
- Prepare classroom supplies for main campus teen in person classes.
- Support the Pre-College team with room setup or other tasks as needed.
- Attend and staff Pre-College Check-In Day to assist students and their families upon arrival.
- Serve as the first line of communication in the Design Center for instructor and TA questions. Answer standard questions and escalate other issues to the CYP Program Manager.
- Take attendance as students arrive at the building. Report student absences to CE staff.
- Answer any family questions during pickup and dropoff. Escalate any major issues to the CYP Program Manager.
- Coordinate with instructors and Program Manager to set up and refresh classroom supplies and corresponding supply closets/stock.
- Step into classrooms in the event coverage is needed.
- Utilize campus partner contact list to contact them for any requests and studio maintenance needs. Alert necessary Operations and Programming team members of any major issues.
- Assist students with finding the classroom.
- Monitor communication channels in Slack and keep in communication with supervisor and/or CYP staff.
- Assist with post-program wrap up activities such as room checks, facilities coordination, and cleanup.
- Provide feedback in debrief meetings.
SUMMER AND PRE-COLLEGIATE PROGRAMS
- Assist Operations staff with room checks to verify readiness for program start.
- Assist with placing informational and wayfinding signage.
- Attend and staff Pre-College Check-In Day to assist students and their families upon arrival.
- Support pre-program setup needs and logistical errands
- Provide additional support/coverage for the Design Center and/or the Teen In Person Operations Assistant as needed, particularly on Mondays, mornings, and right after lunch.
- Running errands for the Operations and/or CYP staff as requested.
- Staff the exhibitions and closing events such as artwork dropoff and pickup as assigned.
- Monitor communication channels in Slack and keep in communication with supervisor and/or CYP staff.
- Step into classrooms in the event coverage is needed.
- Support ops office needs such as instructor print requests and space research
- Assist with post-program wrap up activities such as room checks, facilities coordination, and cleanup.
- Provide feedback in debrief meetings.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience working with databases and proficiency with the technology required, with preference given to experience with 25Live, Workday, Destiny Solutions or an equivalent SIS.
- Must be innovative and solution-oriented, able to work independently and as a part of a highly collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse population of students, instructors, and staff.
- Creativity, flexibility, and broad cultural experiences and personal warmth are essential.
- The ability to travel to off-site locations.
- Must be available to work 5 weeks and attend all mandatory training.
- Must be First Aid certified (training available)
