Job Summary
RISD Continuing Education seeks a temporary Pre College Operations Coordinator to support summer program operations. This role is based in Providence, RI and supports the summer operations team coordinating facilities and programmatic needs for instructors, teaching assistants and students involved with the Pre College program which offers rising high school juniors and seniors the chance to experience life as a RISD undergrad, while following college-level curriculum with day-long studio classes, critiques and projects..

Essential Functions
Pre-Program
- Assist Operations staff with room checks to verify readiness for program start.
- Assist Operations staff in coordinating with facilities on classroom setup needs and wayfinding
- Complete tasks assigned by the CE Operations Specialist as they coordinate facilities requests and studio maintenance. This includes helping to ensure campus partners are contacted and aware of facilities needs at various locations. Supports facilities checks and operations on the main RISD campus.
During program
- Staff the Operations office to solve day-to-day classroom needs. Direct instructors and students to the appropriate campus support teams (eg. Public Safety for lockouts and security needs, Media Resources for audio/visual needs, etc).
- Understand and assist in enforcing policies regarding operations and classroom support by referring instructors to our policy guides and elevating issues to full time operations staff.
- Assist staff with exhibition prep and other program events such as artwork dropoff and pickup as assigned. Support Operations Specialist with coordinating other volunteers/TAs involved in these events.
- Attend and staff Check-In Day to assist students and their families upon arrival.
- Follow up on assigned tasks and emails as assigned by the Operations Specialists.
- Run errands for the Operations team to address an issue or in lieu of an absent campus partner, including equipment needs (ac, water, etc)
- In cases of TA absence in Pre-College, serve as a temporary or permanent substitute for the day.
- Monitor communication channels in Slack and keep in communication with supervisor and/or CE staff.
After program
- Assist with post-program wrap up activities such as room checks, facilities coordination, and cleanup.
- Provide feedback in debrief meetings.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience managing systems and organizing multiple tasks
- Experience working with databases and proficiency with technology required, with preference given to experience with 25Live, Workday, Destiny Solutions or an equivalent SIS.
- Must be innovative and solution-oriented, able to work independently and as a part of a highly collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse population of students, instructors, and staff.
- Creativity, flexibility, and broad cultural experiences and personal warmth are essential.
- The ability to travel to off-site locations.
- Must be First Aid certified or have the ability to be certified (training provided).
