Rise and Sign is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Preschool Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals. We are a bilingual language program in our community that provides an enrichment opportunity for deaf young students.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent skills in ASL, be able to think on-the-spot and be creative, and possess a strong emotional connection to educating young children.
The ASL Preschool Teacher will play an integral role in planning, implementing and supervising activities for preschool-aged children. You will guide them in their daily tasks with language acquisition and development.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement daily lesson plans and activities related to language development and age-appropriate activities that promote learning
• Enhance language development curriculum through intriguing activities that engage children
• Track and document children’s progress and communicate progress regularly to families
• Monitor children’s activities to ensure safety
• Establish and sustain positive relationships with children, their families, and other staff members
Qualifications:
- ASL proficiency (required)
- 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units (required)
- Familiarity with the Deaf Culture (strongly desired)
