Job Purpose
Develop and maintain programs for food safety and quality, leading the Quality Assurance department on all shifts to ensure product quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- SUPERVISE AND TRAIN QA TECHNICIANS
- MANAGE SHIFT PLANNING AND SCHEDULING FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT POSITIONS
- DIRECT INSPECTIONS OF INCOMING INGREDIENTS AND PRODUCTS
- ENSURE COMPLIANCE TO FOOD SAFETY PROGRAMS AND SYSTEMS
- INITIATE QUALITY COMPLAINT INVESTIGATIONS AND VERIFY CORRECTIVE ACTION COMPLETION
- SUPPORT FACILITY DURING REGULATORY AGENCY INTERACTIONS
- PARTICIPATE IN NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND COMMERCIALIZATION
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
- ASSOCIATE'S/BACHELOR'S DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1 YEAR OF SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED OR EQUIVALENT TRAINING AND RECOGNIZED APPTITUDE
- 3 YEARS OF QUALITY EXPERIENCE IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY; KNOWLEDGE AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE WITH FOOD SAFETY PROGRAMS AND SYSTEMS
- HACCP AND PCQI CERTIFIED OR WILLING TO BECOME CERTIFIED

- EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- ABILITY TO THINK CRITICALLY AND SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS
