Part-Time Sports Coordinator
RISE Academy is a subsidiary of RISE Education System, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia. It is our mission to promote the holistic development of the child through an authentic and experiential student learning experience. This is accomplished by educating the child in the formation of faith, family, and community. RISE Academy strives for the development of the whole child by providing excellence in academic preparation in a faith-based environment. We are looking to hire a part-time, in-person Sports Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year at RISE Academy in San Jose, California.

The Sports Coordinator will report to the Head of Development and oversee the planning and execution of programming including afterschool and weekend league duties, ensuring students engage in structured and meaningful athletic activities. The Coordinator will play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate sports environment that aligns with the values of RISE Academy.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise after-school and weekend sports programs for students in grades K-12.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate athletic activities that promote teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship.
- Coordinate and manage league logistics for team practices, games, tournaments, and special athletic events.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students by enforcing proper rules, guidelines, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain sports equipment, facilities, and supplies, ensuring they are in safe and working condition.
- Communicate with school staff, parents, and community members regarding sports programming, schedules, and student progress.
- Collaborate with coaches, teachers, and school leadership to integrate sports with student development goals.
- Attend and participate in required staff meetings, training sessions, and school-wide events.
- Travel off-site for athletic competitions and field trips as needed.
- Other administrative duties as assigned to support the school’s athletic programs.
Required Skills/Qualities:
- Experience working with students in grades K-12 in sports, recreational, educational, or community youth outreach settings.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, parents, and community leaders.
- Knowledge of various sports and physical fitness programs, including skill development and coaching techniques.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lead and actively participate in structured physical activities.
Preferred Skills/Qualities:
- 2 years of experience in sports coordination, coaching, or youth athletic program development.
- Familiarity with after-school or extracurricular athletic program management.
- Experience organizing tournaments, leagues, or recreational events.
