The Facilities Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and general maintenance of our manufacturing facility. This role plays a vital part in supporting the health and safety of our employees, as well as contributing to the overall efficiency and organization of our operations.

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all areas of the facility, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Facility Upkeep:
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including parking lots and entryways
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing minor fixtures
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and notify the Facilities Manager when supplies need to be reordered
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals or performing tasks that require it
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and safety
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other custodial staff and facility personnel to ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently
- Assist with special projects or additional duties as requested by the Facilities Manager
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance procedures, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- This position requires working in a manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels
