Job Description: RISE Scholars Operations Coordinator
Salary commensurate with experience, Range 80K-100K

Position Overview:
RISE Scholars is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team. This unique and multifaceted role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the organization's mission and work closely with the Board of Directors, RISE Scholars staff, the Hamilton School Administration and Novato Unified School District. The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in administrative tasks, program coordination, and community engagement.
This position is open-ended and offers the potential for advancement to Operations Director and ultimately the Executive Director role based on performance and interest. It is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with the option for some hybrid work. However, maintaining a physical presence on the Hamilton School campus is vital to represent RISE Scholars effectively.
Key Responsibilities: (This position includes the following responsibilities. However, this is a growing and changing nonprofit as well as an evolving position, so the position is not limited to these responsibilities.)
Administrative: (Can Be Hybrid)
Manage all staff hiring, onboarding, training, and payroll.
Manage all volunteer applications, approvals, onboarding, and training.
Manage operations and policy handbook and monitor controls within all programs.
Maintain control over community contact information and communication.
Oversee thank-you notes to the community for their support.
Manage all volunteer emails and correspond with prospective volunteers and mentors
Track and monitor donations, budgets, and expenses.
Store and maintain all employee and organization information
Math and Reading Intervention Coordinator: (On Campus)
Manage the Math and Reading Intervention programs, which currently operates two mornings of each week and includes approximately 70 students and 25 volunteer tutors. Interventional tutoring is during the school day to provide tutoring for students in Reading and Math.
Math Academy: (On Campus)
Manage Math Academy, which currently operates on two afternoons of each week and includes approximately 30 students and 3 tutors. The class is held after school for 15 5th-8th graders. Student progress will be tracked weekly and points are awarded based on effort and improvements.
SummerHawks Program Coordinator: SummerHawks is a 5 weeks academic program offered for 150-200 Hamilton students. The program offers math and reading support in addition to chess, athletics, art, coding, and STEM projects. Each class is run by a teacher along with 3-4 high school aides. It is a highly sought after program and students are accepted into the program based on their interest and effort.
Initiate Program Advertising and Promotional Efforts (Can Be Hybrid)
Handle student registration and compile program rosters.
Collaborate in the planning and organization of the SummerHawks program.
Participate in the hiring and placement of staff and volunteers.
Procure necessary program supplies.
Administer IXL diagnostics for students.
Contribute to staff and volunteer training.
Oversee the execution of the SummerHawks program.
Work with program assistant to ensure smooth operations
Manage teachers and volunteers throughout the program and resolve any issues that arise
Annual Fundraiser Coordination:
Collaborate with RISE Board and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in the production of the "Have a Heart" fundraiser.
Program Coordination: (On Campus)
Assist the Board in coordinating all RISE Scholars programs, which currently include Athletics, Chess, Intervention, Mentor Hamilton, and SummerHawks.
Represent RISE Scholars on campus for Back to School Night, Giving Tree, Chess Tournaments, Graduation, and other Hamilton School community events.
Fill in when needed for various program activities, such as van driving, offsite chess tournaments, etc.
Training:
Dedicate ample time to training, especially in the initial phase.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong organizational, administrative, and technological skills.
- Strong math skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage adult staff and volunteers.
- Desire to work with children.
- Passion for and commitment to the educational mission of RISE Scholars.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic nonprofit environment.
- Proficient in Google Suite
Qualifications preferred:
- Teaching Credential
- Experience in accounting and payroll coordination.
- Prior experience working in a school or educational nonprofit is a plus.

This job is year round with ample opportunity for 2 weeks vacation during school breaks in August and the week of Spring Break or Mid Winter break.
In addition, the position will have the following holidays: Thanksgiving week, December 20th-1/2nd, and either Mid winter break or Spring Break, MLK Day 1/15, Presidents’ Day 2/19, Memorial Day, May 27th, July 4th, September 2nd, Labor Day, 11/11 Veterans Day.
There are payroll tasks that need to be completed during school breaks.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
