WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for a dynamic Community Living Support Professional who is aligned with our mission and has empathy for our unique client population. We seek an organized, detail-oriented and positive leader who is comfortable working in an ever changing, fast-paced startup-like environment.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Living Support (CLS) staff will work as part of a team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community. At Rise & Shine, CLS staff support clients with living meaningful and rewarding lives. This includes, not limited to, assisting with daily living activities, enhancing skills, and supporting the individual in the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supporting clients with living activities, strength-based support, communication, achieving personal and developmental goals, community involvement, developing positive connections, and decision making.
  • Assist/supports personal care.
  • Transporting individuals in company vehicles and/or on public transit.
  • Advocating for individuals right to live self-directed life.
  • Administering medication to clients requiring such support.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA rules/regulations.
  • Documentation in Therap and record keeping as required.
  • Report suspected neglect or abuse per the OAR requirements.
  • Create opportunities for individuals to access and explore various community classes, activities, and events.
  • Adhere to Individual Support Plans and Behavioral Support Plans that have been formulated to support clients’ safety and wellbeing, particularly as it applies to violent behaviors.
  • Attend all team meetings and training as required.
  • Train and welcome new staff.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; empathetic, personable, and patient.
  • Strong organizational and time managements skills.
  • Ability to build and establish trust and positive relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm during times of stress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass Oregon criminal background screening.
  • Must be able to remain awake and alert while on shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., bend and/or squat.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to drive company vehicle short and long distances
  • Must be able to perform job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be flexible to work at different locations depending on where there is need for additional support during their weekly schedule.
