About Rise Up Academy: Rise Up Academy (RUA) is a non-profit private school dedicated to closing the achievement gap for low-income and under-served BIPOC youth. Primary Objective: The Executive Director will report to the Founder and CEO and assist in Rise Up’s efforts to lead and advance our educational initiatives and partnerships, develop staff, and foster an inclusive organizational culture.
Ideal candidates must have a solid background in early childhood education with extensive experience in administration, finance, fundraising and non-profit leadership.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
- Serve as a strategic leader, seeking innovative ways to grow the school and develop business interests.
- Assist with fundraising and financial partnership relationship building.
- Oversee social media management and branding to enhance the school's image and visibility.
- Grant writing and management.
- Budget and financial oversight.
- Federal, State, and local regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or appropriate accounting software.
- Develop best practices to establish benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators.
- Represent Rise Up Academy at external events and/or forums.
- Monitor trends and best practices pertaining to education and early learning.
- Set requisites and track staff performance.
- Provide strong leadership and foster growth and development.
- Cultivate an inclusive environment for all individuals.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain high-quality teachers who are committed to our mission and values.
- Ensure that all teachers are professionally trained, supported, and equipped with the resources they need to provide an exceptional learning experience for children.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with families and ensure that they are informed and engaged in their child’s learning and development.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, non-profit management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role at a non-profit organization.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills.
- High emotional intelligence with a track record of successful consensus building.
- Experience writing grant proposals to public and government entities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff and community leaders.
- Effective decision-making and documentation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Diplomatic, tactful, and professional communication.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Respectful workplace behavior.
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
