THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled, experienced, and reliable full-service lead carpenter to join our team. The lead carpenter is responsible for leading a small team and managing projects consisting of anything from small home repairs to large renovations on both residential and light commercial structures. The lead carpenter works with the superintendent to ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent carpentry skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE
- Coordinate with Remodeling Consultants, contractors, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks including framing, trim work, cabinet installation, and finishing.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of carpentry work.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and supervision to carpentry team members.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure that team members understand their responsibilities.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment conducive to productivity and growth.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure that all work meets established standards and specifications.
- Address any issues promptly and effectively.
- Strive to achieve excellence in craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to minimize risks and promote a safe work environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional certification or vocational training in carpentry or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction field.
- Proficiency in trim, door hanging, wood rot repair, and the ability to identify load bearing walls.
- Proficiency in drywall repair and painting, both interior and exterior.
- Remodeling experience - you should be comfortable remodeling a bathroom or kitchen from start to finish.
- Electrical experience - you should know how to set up a three way switch
- Plumbing experience - you should know how to sweat copper & run a drain pipe.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to lead and motivate a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Stamina and physical strength necessary to perform carpentry tasks effectively.

SALARY
- Starting rate is $30-$36/hr depending on experience
