Direct Support Professional (Day Hab)

Overview

Rising Ground has an immediate opening(s) for a Full Time Direct Support Professional to work in one of our Work Readiness programs at our Yonkers site. The Direct Support Professional provides person centered supports based on the individual’s needs, preferences and choices. DSPs perform a wide variety of tasks and activities based on the valued outcomes of each person they work with, and reflecting the specific skills and abilities of each individual. DSPs encourage, guide and offer training to develop daily living skills, ensuring personal needs are met, promoting active engagement in the community life and ensuring health and safety. DSPs create a positive and enriching program environment for all persons supported. Direct Support Professionals are a vital member of each person’s support team. DSP’s are expected to know, understand and live the Code of Ethics.

Annual Salary

$17.00 per hour with HS Diploma/GED

$17.73 per hour with Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Transport individuals in agency vehicles, to and from work sites or community activities.
• Review individual’s Person-Centered Employment plan to form vocational goals for individual to accomplish.
• Develop opportunities for positive learning experiences.                                                                            

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; some college is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License, NY State preferred.
• Work or life experience supporting people with intellectual/developmental/mental health disabilities is a plus, but not required.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday 8:00AM – 4:00PM

Location: Yonkers

Salary : $17 - $18
