Job Summary:
The Account Executive is responsible for handling a book of business in the Health Care P&C space. You will develop strong client and insurance company relationships, qualify opportunities, and manage programs to achieve a client’s key business objectives. A professional at this level will have experience and be responsible for keeping up-to-date on key technical policy areas, Health Care industry topics and trends, technologies and capabilities.
Key client focus areas within Health Care include Hospitals & Health Systems, Physicians & Physician Groups, Hospice and Long Term Care, Senior Living, and Home Health. In addition to standard Property and Casualty lines of business, specialty knowledge of Medical Malpractice/Professional Liability, Managed Care E&O, and Management Liability will be essential.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The duties of the Account Manager include but are not limited to:
Manage client relationships by actively servicing accounts and developing new opportunities
Collaborate across various RSC resources to formulate creative and effective solutions
Respond to client inquires, service requests and claims issues within established timeline
Execute coverage analysis to identify coverage gaps and additional needs
Propose solutions reflecting strategic business needs and/or industry best practices
Ensure that policy changes justified, covered financially and agreed to by key stakeholders
Manage annual renewal process: strategic planning, submission preparation, marketing analysis, prepare renewal presentation, execute binding instructions, and deliver policies
Monitors various documents such as expirations lists, schedules of insurance, policies, endorsements, claim summaries, applications, etc.
Requirements and Qualifications:
3-5 years of work experience in Property & Casualty brokerage experience with knowledge of insurance products and services
College degree preferred
Valid NY Property & Casualty brokers’ license
Agency Management Systems knowledge, AMS 360 and Work Smart preferred
- Hands-on experience dealing with core client needs including strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel documentation skills
- Flexible demeanor with keen sense of attention to detail and ability to pivot focus on demand
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, challenging work environment
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Travel is moderate to active with most contact by phone and email. Travel to client meetings and insurance companies as needed - local radius (NY, NJ, CT) 2-3 times per month. Regional 2-3 times per year.
