Job Summary:
Our Claims Specialist will handle Commercial Lines property and casualty insurance claim matters for Risk Strategies’ clients.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
The duties of the Claims Specialist include, but are not limited to;
- Review circumstances surrounding claims along with appropriate coverage and verbally communicate preliminary coverage opinion to the client
- Acknowledge receipt of claim to client in writing and request all documents necessary in order to move forward and properly advocate on client’s behalf
- Keep AMS claims file properly updated and attach documents in accordance with protocols created and set within the department
- Handle to conclusion insurance claims presented by RSC clients and/or as assigned by Claims Practice Leader. Duties include advocating for the client, maintaining an active diary, transmittal of documentation and follow-up correspondence to the client and carrier
- Assist client in assembling and submitting their claim to the carrier
- Attend client meetings, on-site loss inspections and board meetings when necessary
- Coordinate and mediate at builder’s meetings on problem claims
- Field client questions or concerns and act as mediator with the insurance carrier when necessary
Provide information/documentation to adjusters and other company personnel as requested
Provide insured with interim status and final settlement information
Review lawsuits submitted by clients prior to filing with carriers
Handle Account Executive inquiries and provide loss information when necessary
Conduct and/or attend client claim reviews as requested by Producers and Account
ManagersPerform other duties/projects as assigned by Claims Practice Leader from time to time
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3 yrs. Commercial Lines claims experience, brokerage experience preferred
- Valid P&C Broker’s license preferred
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Agency management system knowledge required, AMS 360/Work Smart preferred
Proficient computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite
Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment
Possess the ability to provide superior customer service
Possess excellent client advocacy and negotiation skills
Self-starter, professional and assertive
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
