Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the incoming shipments at our Canonsburg facility. If you have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently while continuing to communicate with coworkers, we want to hear from you! We have two shifts available: 7:00AM - 2:30PM or 11:00AM - 7:30PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates “COA/BOL’s” paperwork correctly in a sufficient amount of time.
- Converts pre-receipts into receipts containing locations and truckload weights provided.
- Maintains accurate electronic and/or paper files to optimize quality, service and efficiency in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a productive and respectful two-way dialogue with freight drivers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track shipments using our inventory management system.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Operates in multiple systems and manage multiple screens at once.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other office/plant duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in manufacturing, shipping, and/or receiving is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a metals or manufacturing environment, or general office experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently as well as with a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficient in using computer systems.
- Data entry experience.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure and fast paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Microsoft Excel experience is required.
