JOB DESCRIPTION
The Sales Tax Associate is responsible for preparing tax summaries for auctions, researching tax laws and any State or Federal changes, processing exemptions for all invoices received from customers, preparing and filing accurate and timely sales and use tax returns for each state. Also, responsible for performing monthly reconciliations of sales tax liability accounts to the general ledger and working with auditors. This will be an onsite position during the training period (approximately 3 months) and then offers a hybrid work arrangement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for reviewing and processing exemptions for all invoices received from customers.
- Responsible for answering customer and site staff questions regarding tax.
- Accountable for managing and prioritizing workload.
- Research tax law and exemptions for multiple states.
- Understand tax laws to determine if an exemption is valid.
- Find and solve discrepancies in tax account reconciliations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years Office Administration experience – Very comfortable working within deadlines, and fast paced environments
- MS Excel experience (Formula Experience)
- Comfortable speaking and dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent English written and spoken communication
