POSITION SUMMARY : Perform all tasks involved in the production of Ritchie Engineering Company Hose Department products. This includes brass fittings, crimping, cutting hoses, bundling hoses, labeling, inserting gaskets and valves into barbs and light machine maintenance. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Some, but not all, work stations require the following responsibilities and duties : Performs assembly-type functions Measure and cut hose for stock by handOperate cutting machineCut set of test hoses for quality (see work instructions) every morningPull and burst samples; Re-work samples if not up to standardsInspect fittings, hoses and other partsApply epoxy to brass fittingsSalvage brass fittingsAssemble gaskets and valves into barbsWeigh and measure completed barbsOperate tying machinePush ferrules onto hoseMust have basic computer skillsClock in and out of work ordersAbility to read work orders and work instructionsComplete proper paper work dailyPlace finished goods in the designated locationsNotify supervisor of any mechanical or material issuesMaintain a clean and safe work areaPerforms other related duties and assignments as requiredAll production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE DESIRED : The position will require Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, division, and multiplicationEQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY USED : Employees may work at different work stations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process.
