Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Garden Sales Associate to join our team at Ritter Lumber - Buna. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, landscaping, and lawn care, with a strong understanding of plants, gardening tools, and outdoor living products. As a Garden Sales Associate, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with their gardening and landscaping needs, and help maintain the garden center's appearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in the garden center, providing expert advice on plants, gardening tools, landscaping, and lawn care products.
- Maintain the garden center's appearance by watering plants, pruning, and ensuring the area is clean and organized.
- Stock shelves and displays with new merchandise, ensuring products are properly labeled and priced.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading purchases, including heavy items such as bags of soil, mulch, and plants.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest gardening, landscaping, and lawn care trends, products, and techniques to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Provide guidance on landscaping projects, including plant selection, garden design, and lawn maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in a garden center or related field.
- Strong knowledge of plants, gardening tools, landscaping, and lawn care products.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
