Salary Description
$18 - $20/hour
RIVANNA is looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Finance Intern to support our finance and accounting team. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic environment and provides exposure to financial controls, federal grant compliance, and day-to-day accounting operations within a high-growth manufacturing and technology business.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily accounting tasks, including invoice processing, data entry, and bank reconciliations
- Support the monthly financial close process by helping organize and reconcile financial records
- Help maintain documentation for federal grants and contract awards
- Prepare reports and assist with financial analysis to support department managers
- Work with the accounting team to track expenses, manage budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Aid in the preparation of materials for auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders
- Perform research on accounting policies, industry standards, and financial regulations
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks or ERP systems is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
