Groundskeeper (Seasonal)

Job Title:

Head Groundskeeper Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Summary:

The Groundskeeper is a key member of the maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping, maintenance and grounds keeping around the Park. Position involves a combination of duties including preventative maintenance, construction, grounds keeping and customer service as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

1. Be dependable with strong work ethics.

2. Must possess the ability design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping.

3. Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to the park operations.

4. Be a positive leader with strong can–do mentality that takes the initiative and follows through.

5. Possess strong leadership skills and able to make necessary decisions for normal operation/maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures all seasonal grounds duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner and with the highest quality standards; regularly inspects all facilities to ensure proper standards are maintained.

2. Maintains clean and organized works areas; compound and maintenance yard.

3. Mows park grounds and all common areas; including boat ramp, well heads, waste water plant, chlorine station, and other areas of the park on a weekly bases.

4. Grades and prepares soil base, leaf-raking, mulch replacement areas needed.

5. Trims shrubs, prunes hedges and shrubbery; tends flower beds;

6. Manage multiple priorities and organize daily activities to complete required work within agreed deadlines and commitments.

7. Perform other duties as assigned and support all activities as needed of the Maintenance Team.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Work Environment:

In order to perform the work described above in our park, the Maintenance Team use basic hand and power tools; lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; and enter confined spaces. Further, our technicians are expected to display skills in maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Work Schedule:

RBMC operates 7 days a week during the open-season (March – November), 40 hour work week schedule, Monday through Friday, and additional days could be required to be worked as overtime. Employees will be required to possess current driver's license and reliable work vehicle

Raises & Incentives:

Quarterly progress reports will be forwarded to the General Manage for review. Raises will be considered annually on this performance evaluation process.

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
