What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Scheduler position at River Hospital, Inc?
Job Purpose
Responsibilities of this job include inpatient and outpatient scheduling and registration for all inpatient and ancillary departments. Responsible for switchboard operations, petty cash, mail distribution. Responsible for the organization and management of the Admissions office, its records, files, and necessary systems. Responsible for obtaining and verifying all authorizations for scheduled outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years prior experience in a Hospital/Physician Office
- Experience in a related position is preferred
- Knowledge of insurance, Medicare and Medicaid practices
- PC and keyboard skills required
- Accurate clerical skills
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills necessary
- Ability to work with diverse groups including; physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, and families.
