What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Marketing Manager position at River Run Farm?
River Run Farm is diversified organic vegetable farm in Sequim, WA. Perhaps we share your vision to build an agri-culture that serves as a proud foundation for a community's health, food resilience, and beauty.
We take our plant growing seriously! Join us on our work to create systems that make our plants into the most affordable, nutritious food possible.
Our farm is 100 alluvial acres adjacent to the beautiful rambling Dungeness River. We grow about 50 acres of organic vegetables and distribute them to customers locally and in the Seattle region. We wholesale, go to farmers markets, and have a CSA program. Our land base is also home to Tampopo Farm and Salt Water Seeds, which are owned and operated by friends of ours. There is so much potential for a better food system and agricultural landscape. And like so many of you, we are working hard to make our vision happen.
As our Direct Market Manager you will manage and work to improve each of our farm's three direct market channels (CSA, Farmers Markets, and Farmstand), integrating farm marketing, communication, customer service, quality control, product presentation, and logistical details all under your leadership. This is an incredibly diverse role and demands a person who is collaborative, creative, organized, entrepreneurial.
Much of our farm staff are Spanish only speakers. If you are not currently fluent in Spanish, you will need some Spanish language foundation, combined with an interest and commitment to develop you language skills.
The Direct Market Manager position will be a new role on the farm. Along with the farm owner's direction, you will be responsible for helping to develop systems that allow you to effectively achieve your job priorities, and define the boundaries of your responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Collaborate with our Packing Shed and Crew Leads, making sure that all product leaving the farm meet our quality standards and customer expectations.
2) Coordinate and manage all behind the scenes operational tasks and customer communication for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program.
3) Work with the Farmers' Market Manager to grow sales and improve customer satisfaction.
4) Develop our on farm Farm Stand into a thriving storefront.
5) Work with the farm owner to create vibrant educational marketing around the links between Regenerative Agriculture, Soil Health, Plant Nutrition, and a vibrant Agricultural Economy.
