River Run manages the shared services organization supporting both Newburyport Bank and Pentucket Bank. While both Banks maintain their independent, mutual community bank status, working in tandem under River Run provides scale to the organization. Working together under River Run provides greater opportunities for advanced products and services and operational efficiencies. This will establish River Run as a dominant, sustainable, independent, and full-service mutual community banking partnership in the Northeastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire markets.
The Financial Reporting & Analysis Specialist will work closely with the CFO, Controller, and leadership from other departments to ensure the production of timely, accurate and useful financial reporting information. This role is responsible for maintaining the Bank’s financial reporting databases and supporting the Bank’s financial reporting and FP&A processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains financial reporting databases to ensure accuracy of current and historical information.
- Supports various aspects of financial reporting processes such as management reporting, board reporting, financial statement creation and regulatory reporting.
- Creates monthly financial reporting materials for distribution to management.
- Compiles information for regulatory reporting requirements, including the quarterly Call Report, other FRB, and FDIC reporting.
- Supports creating the annual report financial statements.
- Supports the Bank’s ALM program including maintaining cash management, investment and borrowing databases.
- Supports the creation of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the annual 3-year Strategic Planning process.
- Prepares earnings forecasts and other projections as necessary.
- Establishes and maintains a bank-wide profitability process for divisions and projects.
- Drives financial and profitability analysis projects such as review of legal entities, departments, divisions, loan products and deposit products.
- Other ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of financial analysis experience in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related degree in addition to professional experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
- Extensive understanding of Microsoft Excel, including creating and manipulating data sets and reports. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office products and ability to learn alternative specific software also required.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to adapt.
- Detail orientated and ability to work successfully with deadlines and time constraints.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
