River Valley Waldorf School is seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our faculty beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. General Description

As a Guidance Counselor, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of every child, while bringing genuine care as the heart of your work.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Support, or a related field, with certification or licensure as a School Counselor, Behavioral Support Specialist, or Social Worker, or a willingness to pursue certification. They should have experience working with children and adolescents in educational or behavioral support settings, with a preference for familiarity with Waldorf education. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with parents. A passion for ongoing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work is a key requirement.
Hours and Compensation
Each school day 8:00 am – 3:30 pm with a weekly after-school faculty meeting and occasional special events on evenings and weekends.
Salary range $42,000 – $51,000, commensurate with education and experience.

Inservice Training: Begins two weeks before the start of the school year
School Year: September 2, 2025 – June 11, 2026
Required training obtained during employment may include:
- CPR and First Aid
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Stewards of Children – Darkness to Light
- Anti-bias Training
