We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of our metal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in overseeing the installation of structural steel, metal framing, and other metal components in construction, ensuring that all projects are completed to specification, safely, and on schedule. This role will be critical in managing field personnel, subcontractors, and maintaining effective communication with clients, engineers, and project managers.


Key Responsibilities:

• Site Supervision: Lead and manage on-site activities related to metal construction projects, including steel erection, metal framing, and metal panel installation.

• Team Leadership: Supervise and direct subcontractors, ironworkers, welders, and other tradesmen involved in the metal construction project, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.

• Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and designers to align project goals, schedules, and resource requirements. Act as the primary point of contact on-site for all team members and stakeholders.

• Safety Management: Ensure adherence to OSHA and other safety regulations for metal construction work, conducting regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and site inspections to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Quality Assurance: Inspect all metal work to ensure it meets engineering specifications, building codes, and quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve any construction issues related to materials or methods.

• Schedule Management: Develop and manage construction schedules for all phases of the metal construction process, ensuring timely delivery and resolution of any delays.

• Cost Control: Track project costs related to metal materials, labor, and equipment, working to maintain the project budget. Identify potential cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and address any technical or logistical challenges that arise on the construction site, working with engineers and project managers to find effective solutions.

• Communication with Clients: Maintain positive relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing concerns or issues promptly.

• Inspection and Compliance: Oversee the inspection and testing of materials and metal structures to ensure compliance with design specifications and local building codes. Ensure proper documentation is completed for final project handover.

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including labor hours, materials used, equipment deployed, and safety inspections. Submit regular progress reports to project management.


Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Metal Construction Superintendent or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of structural steel, metal framing, and metal fabrication processes.

• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to metal construction work.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and construction plans specific to metal structures.

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a track record of managing field teams effectively.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and work collaboratively with project managers and engineers.

• Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• 3-5 years of experience working with metal construction projects, particularly in steel erection and fabrication.
