Position

Title: Director, Sales Operations

Location: Remote/Home Office - Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, or Massachusetts preferred.

As a Director, Sales Operations you'll partner with executive management in driving business management and operational issues relative to the field sales organization. The role will spearhead the business management, planning and process development of our sales model, helping increase market share acquisition, while driving accurate reporting and forecasting methodologies for Riverbed.


What you will do

  • Sales Strategy & Business Planning - Facilitate the geography strategic sales planning process and modeling with annual & quarterly updates. This includes Sales Coverage Models, Familiarity with Commission Processing, and Quota Setting.
  • Sales Forecasting and Reporting - Provide standard and ad-hoc sales forecasting and sales reporting capabilities for the Americas Geography.
  • Account & Opportunity Review Management - Drive best practices for the sales team to plan annually for accounts & deliver proper close plans for opportunity success.
  • Sales Process & Documentation: Refine the existing processes to improve Sales Productivity, trouble shoot current processes to ensure sales has a champion within the company to get answers for customers with a sense of urgency, and effectively document process for future continuous improvement.
  • Sales Compensation - Partner with Sales Leadership and Finance to ensure fair and documented quota setting in addition to driving sales compensation design changes.

What makes you an ideal candidate

  • Background in Sales Operations, Channel Operations, Sales, Sales Finance or similar role at a fast-paced technology company (hardware or software).
  • Strong, proven track record of supporting executive level sales staff with executive-level business planning, presentations, end-to-end account & opportunity win/loss acceleration, meeting & event planning/coordination, ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Track record of working in a matrixed organization, where key resources may report into other areas of the company but are essential to meeting goals and accomplishing tasks.
  • Leveraging MS Office suite of products - expertise with excel is a must and ability to create Exec level decks is critical.
  • Deep understanding of CRM systems and processes (Salesforce.com, Clari & Quip) to enable on existing & new processes.
  • Deep understanding of Business Intelligence tools, building reports or managing the building of the reports & enabling sales staff on value and use of the tools.
