Job Summary

The 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations during the second shift at Riverbend Energetics. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The Production Manager will lead a team of production personnel, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety requirements while optimizing operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Supervision: Direct and manage second-shift production teams, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Production Management: Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols related to handling and processing energetic materials. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ATF, and other applicable regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain adherence to quality control procedures, identifying and addressing deviations or defects in production.
  • Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Equipment & Facility Management: Oversee the proper maintenance and operation of production machinery and equipment. Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, safety reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Communication: Collaborate with first and third shifts, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless production flow and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role, preferably in an energetics, explosives, or defense-related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements for handling energetic materials.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to energetic materials and controlled environments.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.
  • May require occasional weekend or overtime work as needed.
