As an Administrative RN or LPN, you will have a dual role: (a) provide clinical administrative support, and (b) provide clinical support throughout the nursing department focusing on patient care. A brief description of each role is listed below:
Administrative responsibilities and requirements:
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation throughout all administrative departments.
- Perform data entry, transcribe documents, and maintain accurate records.
- File and organize medical records, both physical and electronic.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Assist HR with the following tasks - check OIG monthly, complete NAT7 forms yearly and PRN, assist with reviewing and credentialing medical providers, assist with tracking H&P log daily.
- Assist DON with chart audit follow up, monitoring required signatures by deadline per admission, assist with policy/procedure updates, assist with daily census report and tracking of D/C summaries by MD for completion.
- Proven experience as a medical administrative assistant or in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Clinical responsibilities and requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or (LPN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordination of post-hospital care.
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing.
- Utilize medical imaging systems for diagnostic purposes.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
