What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Worker position at Riverbend Rehabilitation Hospital?
We are seeking a utility worker for our facility, that has three facilities on the property. The ideal candidate will need to flexible and open to work where needed.
A utility worker is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and basic repair tasks within a facility, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, cleaning equipment, and making minor repairs to lights or other fixtures, essentially ensuring the overall cleanliness and functionality of the space; they may also be responsible for stocking supplies and maintaining sanitation standards. Key responsibilities of a utility worker may include:
- Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, wiping down surfaces, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash cans.
- Equipment maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, tools, and appliances
- Supply management: Stocking cleaning supplies, restocking inventory
- Minor repairs: Fixing minor issues with lights, plumbing fixtures, or other equipment
- General upkeep: Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of common areas and workspaces
- Waste disposal: Properly disposing of trash and recycling
- Following safety protocols: Adhering to cleaning chemical safety guidelines and proper handling procedures
Depending on the industry and specific work environment, a utility worker may also be responsible for:
- Groundskeeping tasks: Maintaining outdoor areas like sidewalks, parking lots, and landscaping
- Snow removal: Clearing snow and ice during winter months
