Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential painting and remodeling, with the ability to lead projects from start to finish. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. The Lead Painter will oversee painting projects, ensuring that all work meets our standards of excellence while managing a team of painters.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise painting projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as necessary.
- Apply paint using various techniques including airless paint spraying and brush/roller methods.
- Perform drywall repairs and stucco work as needed to ensure a smooth finish.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Train and mentor junior painters on best practices in painting techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain an organized work environment, including proper storage of tools and materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding project progress, timelines, and any issues that arise.
Skills
- Proficient in basic math for measuring areas and calculating paint quantities.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation and repair techniques.
- Experience in residential painting with a focus on restoration projects.
- Familiarity with stucco application processes.
- Skilled in caulking for sealing gaps and joints effectively.
- Basic carpentry skills for minor repairs or adjustments during projects.
- Ability to operate airless paint spraying equipment efficiently.
- Competence in reading blueprints to guide project execution accurately.
