Position overview:

This position plays a key role in developing, implementing, and managing the organizations DEI initiatives. Responsibilities include collaborating with various stakeholders and DEI leadership to design and manage staff programs (i.e. Employee Resource Groups and Mentorship programs). Additionally, works closely with DEI leadership and team to develop program goals, communications, timelines, and budgets. Supports Rivermarks DEI Council to ensure their efforts are aligned with the organizations DEI Mission. Assists in the management of DEI training for staff. Tracks and reports on DEI program outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the DEI team and internal partners to support Rivermark Community Credit Unions DEI Mission and build a culture of belonging for the entire Rivermark community.
  • Administers and provides support to the Employee Resource Group (ERG) program in executing initiatives that promote engagement and inclusion across the Credit Union.
  • Partners with ERG leaders and Sponsors to establish clear governance and goals that are tied to Rivermarks DEI Mission. Coordinates the development of new ERGs and monitors program metrics.
  • Coordinates the DEI Mentorship program. Recruits and supports the training of mentors and mentees. Evaluates program effectiveness through feedback and data analysis, ensuring continuous improvement. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote the program, facilitate events, and share best practices.
  • Provides support to the DEI Council ensuring effective collaboration and progress towards Rivermarks DEI Mission. Supports the Council leadership in the development of agendas and activities. Acts as a liaison for the DEI Council and other business units. Manages the recruitment and training of new Council members.
  • Supports the DEI and training teams in the development of and delivery of training programs to increase awareness and understanding DEI topics and issues among employees. Manages the DEI training program and tracks participation.
  • Partners with DEI leadership in the development of DEI learning resources and toolkits for use throughout the credit union. Develops content that helps support asynchronous DEI learning.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of two years progressive DEI program management experience from ideation to pilot, to execution and evaluation establishing program requirements, using data and metrics.
  • Minimum of two years leading an employee resource group, DEI Council, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to create a compelling story around DEI efforts.
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness of multiple facets of diversity with a focus on intersectionality.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and evaluate, develop, recommend and implement alternative solutions and effective courses of action in response to complex or sensitive DEI- specific issues.
  • Attend DEI-related community events as needed. Actively participate as a knowledgeable ambassador for DEI at Rivermark in the community.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally in group and individual settings and develop positive internal working relationships.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, particularly Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel. Must be technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications.
  • This position is a hybrid work model (onsite and remote work).
