Essential Job Functions
- Learn and apply in a friendly and professional manner check-in and check-out procedures for hotel guests
- Learn and apply cleanliness standards in Housekeeping including proper equipment use and other processes
- Learn and conduct room inspections, preventative room maintenance and property walks
- Learn and understand company and brand standards
- Learn inventory and cost controls for each department and retail
- Learn and understand a hotel budget and yield management
- Learn guest service score program
- Learn VIP preferred guest program and database tracking
- Learn and assist in Sales and Marketing with event planning/coordination, booking flow and STR reporting
- Learn the ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports
- Participate in department brainstorming sessions
- A project will be assigned during internship and must be concluded by the end of the internship and may include some or all of the following:
- Research
- Advertising or marketing strategies
- Learning about competitors
- Figuring out better systems or processes
- Creating a presentation
- Final review of internship
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Current or recent enrollment in graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the hospitality industry
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- Students majoring in Hospitality or Hotel Management preferred
- Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information
- Ability to analyze and interpret established policies and procedures
- Deal with the general public, customers, associates and government officials with tact and courtesy
- Complete all assigned tasks, reports, projects, etc. in a professional manner and on and on-time basis
- Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of objects
- Prolonged period of sitting, standing, and walking
- Regularly required to see, talk and hear, use of manual dexterity including reaching, handling and feeling
- Exposure to high noise level for prolonged periods of time
- Rotating schedules based on business needs
