- Efficiently plan, organize, and lead the employees in the Event Center Operations and Banquets while ensuring optimal guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for managing the daily execution of all banquet functions in the Casino’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability
- Manage daily Banquet functions to include, but not limited to, planning, organizing and executing breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, concerts and galas, etc.
- Oversee the setup of function rooms to include, but not limited to, the placement of linens, silver, glassware and chinaware according to event specifications and a full inspection.
- Executes strategic plans to achieve revenue goals by generating new sales ideas and researching new markets and trends.
- Communicate and enforce contractual agreements pertaining to meeting space, food and beverage and special concessions.
- Knowledge of systems used (POS, table management system, guest recognition, sales analysis tools, forecasting/budgeting, review of profit and loss statements)
- The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and V.P. of Marketing to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
- Oversees daily Operations relating to the service experience throughout the Casino and acts as a decision maker on property.
- Hires, trains and evaluates Team Members in the Event Center and Banquet
- Responsible for ensuring accurate scheduling of the Event Center Departments based on operational needs and marketing events.
- Responds to guest complaints and resolves them in a way that ensures the guest will return again quickly and ensures that every guest leaves happy.
- Opens and closes the banquet ensuring appropriate housekeeping and presentation standards are adhered to following established procedures and checklists.
- Complies with all casino rules and regulations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- College degree preferred, specializing in restaurant management, sales or equivalent experience required.
- 3 to 5 years' previous experience leading a Banquet and Events operation with casino experience a plus.
- Requires a working knowledge of food and beverage operations and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Proficient computer knowledge, specifically Micros, Reserve, Open Table, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite operating systems
- Knowledge of database and player rating software preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
