Job Summary:
Responsible for management and supervision of slot operations activities on assigned Shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Will work in conjunction with the Slot Shift Manager and oversee the Slot Attendant Team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors the daily slot operation and all slot team members during assigned shifts ensuring all activities and job duties are performed according to established Company and departmental policies, procedures and goals and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with Virginia Gaming requirements and pertinent state gaming laws.
- Immediately informs the Slots Shift Manger of any Rivers policy or gaming related irregularities and investigates them as directed.
- Provides constructive input and written documentation to team members regarding their work performance, including preparing and presenting performance appraisals.
- Performs Inspired Service observations.
- Verifies jackpots.
- Verifies Attendant variances.
- May be an authorized second verifier as a check signer.
- Resolves guest disputes or elevates them when necessary.
- May be required to cover shifts in times of coverage needs.
- Consistently trains and develops Team Members to improve their skill set and provide continuous improvement in guest service.
- Maintains constant awareness of services, promotions, and events offered by Rivers Casino and informs guests.
- Immediately communicates if a slot guest is playing in an unethical or irregular manner or if a slot team member is working in an unethical manner.
- Maintains control logs of keys and radios, ensuring their security on property.
- Maintains Team Member files, payroll, and other assigned record keeping.
- Maintains a constant awareness of regulatory requirements.
- Assists in daily labor management to business volumes.
- Assists in the requested slot marketing efforts as requested.
- Must maintain strict confidence of all confidential and proprietary information disclosed by Rivers Casino, team member of Rivers Casino, or a guest of Rivers Casino.
- Provides effective leadership to ensure guests receive friendly, efficient, and accurate services and information. Maintains operational procedures for quality standards to ensure maximum guest service and cost effectiveness.
- Interview and hire new team members as needed and in compliance with the Company Standards.
- Prepares and administers Team Member reviews based off the Company format.
- Maintain accurate personnel and departmental files.
- Responsible for scheduling to provide the most efficient guest service possible.
- Effectively manage department personnel through planning, directing, and assigning work; address team member complaints and resolve conflicts, provide coaching and counseling and disciplinary action as needed, give feedback on team member performance through the evaluation process and regular one-on-one meetings.
- Ensures compliance with Virginia Lottery Board regulations and with the company's internal controls.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in gaming operations.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
- Able to obtain and retain gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have strong leadership skills with a clear focus on guest service and Team Member relations as a priority.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff or customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
- Available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
- See, walk, talk, and hear as well as using hands to handle, feel and reach gaming equipment (cards, chips, dice, shuffle devices, etc.)
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to identify colors.
- Be able to turn your upper body at least 60 degrees.
- Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
- Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
