Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Teacher to join our private school community. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Montessori education and a passion for teaching children with special needs, particularly those with autism. This leadership role will oversee a toddler care program and provide guidance and support to a team of teachers. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing environment that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children.
Child Care Teacher/Assistant skills and qualifications
Our child care teachers/assistants must be well versed in interacting with and providing care to children of various ages. Applicants should possess certain skills and qualifications to include:
- Supervision of children of various ages at all times
- The ability to observe and interpret behavior and the expertise in assessing/addressing potential issues
- Attentive and understanding demeanor when interacting with and caring for children
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills and the ability to interact with children, parents and fellow teachers
- Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
- Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time

Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods

- Must be able to pass a background check and be fingerprinted

Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- High School or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid (Provided by Center)
