Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Support the Head Golf Professional in managing the club's golf operations and programs. This role is essential for maintaining the club's reputation for excellence in golf operations and member satisfaction.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Assists in the coordination of tournaments and special events.
- Assists in all aspects of the Merchandising operation (buying, receiving, selling, and floor displays)
- Assists in the management of the pro shop staff and outside service staff
- Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules, and regulations.
- Assists Golf Professionals in instruction and coaching.
- Helps with junior golf activities and programming
- Conducts golf clinics.
- Oversees Pro Shop inventory and periodically conducts physical merchandise counts, including scorecards, tees, matches, pencils, ball marks, golf car tags, and tee sheets.
- Documents, charges, and keeps accurate records of all in-house and outside club repair work.
- Assumes Golf Professional's duties in his or her absence.
- Helps manage the daily opening and closing of golf operations.
- Assists the pro shop staff, starter, ranger, and outside service personnel.
- Ensures all tournament winners are properly entered into the credit book with the correct dates and description of the event.
- Keeps updated on times needed for golf clinics and group lessons.
- Performs starter or marshal duties as needed.
- Helps manage the USGA handicap system for members.
- Keep the Golf Pro Shop counter and club repair area neat, clean, and always organized.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Maintain complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information.
- Stay up-to-date and current on all upcoming club events.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment, emphasizing employee health and safety.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
- Fully knowledgeable of all opening and closeout procedures of the Golf Pro Shop.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Professional.

Annual Bonus and Incentive Structure
- Class A Member or minimum Level 1 and higher in the PGM Program.
- Prior experience as an Assistant Golf Professional (private club experience preferred but not required).
- Self-starter/self-motivated and goal-driven.
- Tournament operation experience is a must. Familiar with all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up, and billing charges.
- Proficient in Golf Genius or similar tournament management software.
- Point of Sale and cash management experience.
- Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Maintain playing ability and work to stay competent in all areas of the game.
- Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures.
