Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team at a Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care and support during their visits. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in various departments such as Dermatology, PICU, and X-Ray will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist healthcare providers by preparing patients for examinations, including taking vital signs when necessary.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate department.
- Process medical coding for billing purposes as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations within the hospital setting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in roles related to patient service or reception.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
