Description
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Biomed Support Technician to join our team in Kankakee, IL. The Biomedical Department is responsible for medical equipment maintenance and repair, as well as recording proper documentation of equipment service to ensure hospital equipment is safe for use on patients. This role requires excellent organization skills and attention to detail. The Biomed Support Technician will assist the Biomed Department with equipment location, paperwork, department organization, and minor repairs / maintenance of non-life support equipment. Capability to keep current on multiple tasks / projects is key as daily operations are dynamic and change rapidly based on hospital need. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope / duties / licensure.
Essential Duties
Equipment Location
- Assists Biomed Department with finding medical devices in need of repair / maintenance, devices affected by medical device recalls, and finding mobile medical equipment in need of Bluetooth location tracking
- Assists Biomed Department with maintaining an accurate inventory of medical equipment for our hospital and clinic locations in the healthcare system
Paperwork
Receives work order notes from Biomed Technicians, and completes work order paperwork in a timely fashionAssists Biomed Manager with parts ordering, medical device recall communications, and inventory trackingDepartment Organization
Works with Biomed Department to organize parts / equipment storage / keeping department orderlyMedical device repairResponsible for repairs on minor, non-life support, medical equipment as needed, such as vitals signs monitors, BP cuffs / stands, scales, IV pumps, etc.Non-essential Duties
Participate in staff meetings as a minutes keeper / scribe.Requirements

Previous experience in a hospital / healthcare setting is preferred, but not requiredInterpersonal communication skills with Biomed Manager and Technicians through spoken word, email, or instant messageBasic knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts is a plus, but not preferred.
