Summary

The Manager of Compliance must be knowledgeable in Federal Motor Carrier Safety, Hazardous Material Transportation, and OSHA regulations. Candidate is expected to keep the organization, equipment, facilities, and driving fleet compliant in these areas at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist with and spearhead development and implementation of appropriate corporate compliance policies, procedures, and training for all personnel. Said policies, procedures and training affect all levels of employees from drivers to Senior Management personnel in all areas of the company.

Ensure all Compliance positions are adequately staffed, trained, and supported to accomplish driver hiring, qualification and training processes.

Manage internal DOT compliance department to develop, implement and maintain processes that monitor Driver Qualification records. This includes confirming proper compliance with the FMCSRs, MVR monitoring, and other records as needed.

Manage the review process of all driver violations including, Citations, CSA violations, Out of Service Criteria, and Company Policies, serving as a liaison with external agencies as needed.

Administer coaching, training and provide recommendations for compliance related violations as needed.

Identify training needs based on CSA scores, logging trends, common incoming calls and conduct proactive safety related training.

Complete special projects and annual objectives as assigned Examples include end of year reporting, projects to attain yearly goals, developing training materials, etc

Management of the company citation processing, policy and guidance for moving/non moving violations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises multiple non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required, college work or completion preferred; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess or be able to obtain CSS, CSP, CDS, OSHA 40 hour certification.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and other groups both inside the company and externally .

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Compliance management systems, Payroll systems; Microsoft Office Suite Products.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
