Job Summary:
As an RCDD Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical design and engineering activities for all structured cabling, technology rooms, raised floor areas, backbone/risers, and lateral distribution systems. The RCDD Engineer is considered a subject matter expert in their field and is expected to stay current with various technologies, maintain industry certifications, support organizational goals and industry trends to drive value. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Project implementation and validation services in terms of cable infrastructure support for all infrastructure technologies, services and projects.
- Estimates and scope development, design, design and bid documents, bid analysis, develop and administer RFPs, field surveys and validation of as-built drawings.
- Ensure all cabling designs adhere to relevant industry standards and building codes.
- This position will interface directly with internal and external customers/suppliers as well as internal network and engineering teams, product/project management, data center, storage, and operations teams.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- RCDD certification is required
- Knowledge and understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are a must. The candidate must be able to work on their own and in team settings of various sizes and onsite locations.
- Baseline knowledge of Wide Area Networking, Data and IP Networks and Voice is a plus.
- Prior experience participating in design and/or implementation of major IT projects.
- Experience in process re-engineering efforts (ITIL, Six Sigma, MOF/MSF, etc.) is a plus.
- Conversant with relevant ISO/IEC, CENELEC, and BICSI structured cabling standards.
- Ability to modify designs and accommodate unique installation challenges to meet customer-driven requirements.
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
- Willingness to travel 25% and be ONSITE.
- Must have an exceptional driving record and have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
- Must have ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working at heights of 3-40 ft.
