Patient Access Team Lead

Overview
Assists management in the daily operations of the Patient Access Department. Assists in supervision of staff, orders supplies, handles opening and/or closing duties, provides education and evaluation, and can back-up any of the patient registration functions.

What you will do

• Assists management in the daily operations of the department to include staff supervision, orientation and training, compliance and customer satisfaction.


• Orders department supplies.


• Assumes on-call responsibilities and assists management with creating staff schedules.


• Maintains Quality Assurance statistics to include patient wait times, call volumes, and scheduling.


• Backs-up team members when necessary.


• Verifies patient insurance eligibility.


• Secures as signatures necessary for treatments, release of medical information and assignment of insurance benefits and payment.


• Registers patients as needed. Obtains copays and/or deposits where applicable.


• Performs opening and closing duties as assigned.


• Works assigned work queues daily.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED, (Required)


• Bachelors Degree, (Preferred)

Experience

• 3-4 years Patient Access experience (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) (Required)


• CRCR - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) (Preferred)


• Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) (Preferred)

Other Requirements

• Call Rotation
