RiverSpring Living is seeking an Executive Director of Memory Care to join our dynamic team!
The RiverSpring Living campus is set on 32 acres overlooking the Hudson River, in Riverdale, New York. RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.
The role of the Memory Care Life Enrichment Executive Director is pivotal for enhancing the quality of life for our residents living with memory impairment. This role requires a strong blend of empathy, creativity, effective leadership, and organizational skills. This position will oversee all areas of the Hebrew Home at Riverdale’s memory care units.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Working in conjunction with Therapeutic Arts Enrichment Program Director, Lead oversee the execution of memory care programs and activities
- Inspiring and guiding teams, fostering collaboration, and promoting a positive organizational culture
- Train and mentor team members on best in class practices for working with individuals with memory loss
- Assures staff orientation and annual training.
- Maintains ongoing resources and support for staff
- Develops a therapeutic environment
- Oversee our Memory Care Outings program
Resident Assessment and Care planning
Conducts assessments to determine residents’ interest, abilities and needsCollaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop programs to satisfy individual resident needs (both group and individual programming)Family Engagement and Support
Communicate regularly with residents’ families, provide updates and involve familyin programming and events
In collaboration with Social Services, offer support and resources to families coping with their loved ones’ memory challengesSpecial events planning for residents, family and friendsQuality Assurance and Compliance
Ensure that programs comply with RiverSpring Living Compliance as well as regulatory standards.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of enrichment programs, making adjustments as neededTrack resident participation and engagement in activitiesAdvocates for residents’ rights and needs within the facility and the broader communityStay informed about the latest research and best practices in memory care and supportFinancial fluency
Develop and manage budgets for programs and activities, ensuring efficient use of resourcesSeek grants or other funding to enhance memory care program offeringsCreate a safe and nurturing environment
Ensure that the physical environment is conducive to the safety and well-being of residentsPromote a culture of respect, dignity and empowerment for residentsQualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in health related field such as healthcare administration, nursing, social services, gerontology or mental healthMaster’s Degree a plusparticipates in ongoing professional development and training especially as related to best practices in memory careSignificant proven (6-8 years) experience in healthcare with a focus on senior living or memory careSupervisory and Leadership experience a mustProven experience managing operations, budgets, and staff in healthcare environmentClear and effective verbal and written skills to convey ideas an motivate teamsStrong organizational skillsAbility to make sound decisions quickly and decisively while remaining adaptable in high stress environmentsAbility to set long terms goals and develop actionable plans to achieve themSpanish speaking a plusIf clinically licensed, must have valid licensure in NYS. Must maintain active licensure while in this positionCertifications related to dementia care such as : Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) etc.Compensation :
