Division and Program Overview:
Client Health Services a Division of Public Health. WIC works within the guidelines of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) to provide nutrition assessment, education, planning, and consultation services.
RiverStone Clinic provides patient focused services to all patients regardless of ability to pay.
Job Summary:
This job will be primarily managing WIC services, seeing clients of WIC as needed and 8 hours per week working with the Community Health Center.
The WIC Nutrition Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the WIC program. This position works directly with high risk pregnant women, infants, and children under the age of 5 years to meet the requirements of the WIC program and influence positive outcomes for families. The WIC Nutrition Manager manages and builds relationships between the community, staff, providers and clinics while bringing content expertise and knowledge surrounding the program elements, deliverables and metrics. Work is performed to ensure efficiency of program delivery, incorporating integrity and innovation to ensure a high level of customer service.
The WIC Nutrition Manager provides nutrition assessment, education, planning and consultation services for groups. The dietician encourages and assists patients to find better ways to provide healthy nutrition and seek resources that offer guidance for diet and nutrition.
Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Program Management 50%

Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all personnel in the department.

Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures for the service line and public health services.

Plan, implement, and administer programs and services in public health services including personnel administration, training, and coordination.

Review and analyze facility activities and data to aid planning and cash and risk management and to improve service utilization.

Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space, and equipment availability.

Prepare activity reports to inform management of the status and implementation plans of programs, services, and quality initiatives.

Inspect facilities and recommend building or equipment modifications to ensure emergency readiness and compliance to access, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Maintain communication between governing boards, medical staff, and department heads by attending board meetings and coordinating interdepartmental functioning.

Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, and coordinating financial reporting.

Develop instructional materials and conduct in-service and community-based educational programs.

Excellent internal communication with other RiverStone employees, and providers to ensure efficiencies and quality customer service.

B. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) 35%

Performs supervision of staff in WIC

Develops and coordinates regular staff meetings

Maintains all state regulatory requirements for all programs

Coordinates staffing, orientation, training, evaluations, career development and discipline

Interviews, selects and hires staff in conjunction with Human Resources

Develops annual budget and provides input on budgetary considerations

Applies for grants as needed

Engages in public health leadership, including accreditation and special projects for the betterment of public health

Participates in all emergent and nonemergent functions of Public Health Services as assigned
C. Clinical Registered Dietician 10%

Works with clinic leadership to establish and provide nutritional education and guidance to patients.
Non-Essential Functions/Other duties as assigned 5%
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the RiverStone’s mission and goals.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications

Registered Dietician
- MS in Nutrition or Dietetics
-
5 years of experience including two years of supervisory responsibilities

Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid State of Montana Driver’s License in good standing

Registered Dietician License

Required to obtain emergency preparedness on the job training at a minimum of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400 and 700
