Associate Pastor – Student Life Ministry

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the spiritual development of the Student Life Ministry – High School and Middle Students at Riverview, shepherding and equipping high school and middle school leaders and working with parents.

- Lead the ministry with sound doctrine and Christ-centered teaching

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a Student Life Ministry program that includes:
- Wednesday night worship gathering and teaching
- Sunday morning groups
- Discipleship that our students can use every day of their week
- Overseeing development, scope, and sequence of curriculum
- Overseeing monthly, summer, and seasonal activities
- Maintaining the current 4th and 5th grade ministry in the local school
- Create a plan for discipleship that is communicated to students and parents
- Recruit and manage adult volunteers
- Establish a presence on local high school and middle school campuses to support RCC students and to reach others
- Establish a Mission culture
- Cast vision for and focus students on the local, regional, and global call of discipleship
- Lead local, regional, and global student mission trips aligned with our missionary partners
- Engage students in service opportunities at RCC and in the community
- Ministry to parents
- Shepherd parents in times of need
- Equip parents with resources to be the student’s primary influence
- Other Duties/Responsibilities of the position
- Plan, promote, budget, and execute retreats and mission trips
- Help coordinate Sunday morning assimilation process
- Occasional Sunday morning teaching as part of a teaching team
- Perform other duties necessary for the success of the Student Life Ministry at Riverview.
- Potential additional area of ministry responsibility (up to 35% FTE): worship arts and AVL technologies
SPIRITUAL GIFTS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- College degree
- Bible College or seminary training preferred
- Previous experience in youth ministry or Christian education in a teaching role and have completed an undergraduate degree or work experience equivalence in this field
- For possible worship arts role: substantive experience planning and leading worship music; experience with AVL tech would be a plus.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PASTORS
- Be in agreement with Riverview’s Statement of Faith

- Perform sacerdotal functions as needed: communion, funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.
- Available to teach occasionally as part of the teaching team
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Oversee: Student Life Ministry volunteers
- Work with: Kid’s Life Ministry Director
